
Harvey Fine
Managing Director
Harvey Fine focuses on M&A and capital raising assignments for Galileo, with a particular geographic emphasis on China and emerging markets. He has 15 years of experience working on the financial and investment issues facing both public and private businesses. Prior to joining Galileo, he was a Research Associate for the Senior Investment Strategist at Montgomery Asset Management, where he authored theme-driven public company and industry investment research and formulated quantitative portfolio analyses. One of his reports served as the testimony for a U.S. Senate Subcommittee hearing on the investment implications of tax policy.
Harvey’s private equity experience includes work with Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst on its investment in its North American and Latin American cable media ventures. He has also executed private equity investments in the consumer products industry with strategic partners and buyers that have included Keebler, Walt Disney, Coca-Cola and Kellogg’s.
Early in his career, Harvey was an Associate with The GulfStar Group, a boutique merchant bank where he focused on private equity and mezzanine investments, capital raising and M&A transactions. His work included investments in MBOs, leveraged recapitalizations, growth financings and consolidation plays.
Harvey is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and holds a Masters degree in international finance from Columbia University, where he was awarded a Dean's Fellowship and served as a Research Assistant for Economics Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz. He has been a frequent speaker on emerging markets and their impact on commodity markets.
